2017-2019 IDSA Board Elections

Nominations for the 2017-2019 Board of Directors term. The positions open for May 2017–2019 are:

Secretary/Treasurer

Serving as an Officer of the Society and a member of the Board’s Executive Committee, the Secretary/Treasurer oversees the Society’s funds and records and ensures that proper accounting procedures are followed.

At-Large Director

The At-Large Director represents the general interests of the Society and the membership-at-large. He/she consults, investigates and researches such matters affecting the profession and provides such information and reports to the Board as requested or as deemed advisable.

Specific for the 2017-2019 term, the At-Large Director will be given an IDEA portfolio. He/she will support the IDEA program and lead its task force as it develops recommendations for growing an already successful program.

Chapter Director

The Chapter Director promotes, monitors and nurtures chapters and represents chapters interests on the Board of Directors.  This role is responsible for cultivating opportunities for relationships among chapters, sections and education.

West, South & Midwest District Chapter Representatives (Committee Positions)

The new District Chapter Representative positions, for ease of simplicity, have been coined “super chapter chairs.” Each district’s representative will focus on fostering the growth of chapters in their region, mentor chapter officers, create connections between chapters and engage members who live “in between” chapters. Each representative will serve on the newly established Districts Committee which is chaired by the Chapter Director.

Upcoming Proposed Bylaws Changes

In 2016, IDSA’s Governance Task Force put forth recommendations for Bylaws changes to the Board of Directors. These changes have been endorsed and approved to be voted on by the membership. Some of these changes were shared during the Year in Review at the International Conference 2016, Making Things Happen, and all proposed changes have been reflected in the details above. At the close of the nominations period, full details of all proposed changes will be posted on the website for a period of 30 days, in accordance with IDSA’s Bylaws.
