IDSA offers a variety of ways for members to get involved and take their participation to the next level. We invite you to deepen your engagement with us and your member peers, by adding your talents to one of our community leadership teams, committees or other opportunities. Volunteer today!

Membership Committee

This committee is responsible for developing strategies that support and expand IDSA’s membership. It also acts as the National Admissions Officer, approving IDSA’s new members on a monthly basis.

Nominations & Elections Committee

This committee is responsible for identifying and vetting candidates who wish to serve in elected roles on the Board of Directors, committees and councils.

Professional Chapter Leader

Professional chapters are city-based community groups delivering enriching design experiences across North America. Though its leadership, the value IDSA Chapters provide is sometimes difficult to quantify, but often immeasurable in terms of positive impact on one’s future career.

Section Leader

Sections are centers for knowledge exchange and subject matter expertise within specific design domains and they create pathways of connection for members of our community. Sections are not geographically bound but often partner with IDSA’s Chapters to produce content and host events together.

Student Chapter Leader

IDSA Student Chapters provide rich academic and professional growth environments for students to organize around their career aspiration at colleges and universities across the United States. These localized, school-based communities create an invaluable support network for those who participate.

Women in Design Chapter Leader

IDSA’s network of Women in Design Chapters is aimed at fostering positive gender equity within our profession and creating welcoming environments for women, women-identifying individuals, and allies to network, connect, and learn from one another. WID Chapters operate much like IDSA’s Professional Chapters and provide valuable programming for designers in local communities.
