Symon Harrah, IDSA, is the community design manager at GE’s FirstBuild Microfactory, leading product design initiatives in a variety of cross-functional engineering, design and marketing teams. He also serves as an integral part of the co-creation movement that FirstBuild champions—envisioning a future where consumers and manufacturers work together to design and build products—democratizing the entire process.
Through his design advocacy and experimentation with crowdfunding, Harrah’s work has been recognized by The New York Times, CNet and IndieGogo for its unique place within the ecosystem of home appliance solutions. He is a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design and is a huge advocate for hands-on learning through building, testing and experimenting. “A prototype is worth one thousand meetings!” declares Harrah.
