Portfolio Director at IDEO As a Portfolio Director at IDEO, Rhys brings the tools of design and amazing teams to help clients tackle the large systemic challenge of reimagining growth. He helps companies create new products, services and ventures that are truly future-fit and guides them and their leaders as they make the transition from legacy industrial operating models of make, take, waste to more modern ones that are circular, regenerative, and restorative in nature. Some of the tools he puts to use in this space are collaborative research and design, open innovation and acceleration, and organizational and systems design. Prior to IDEO, he spent seven years at the World Resources Institute, a global sustainability think tank in Washington, D.C. There, Rhys was the Director of Information and Innovation for the WRI Center for Sustainable Cities where he helped to establish and grow EMBARQ’s global network of organizations, working with cities and national governments around the world to design sustainable solutions for urban mobility. He currently lives in Oakland, CA where he gets daily lessons on creativity and curiosity from his two daughters.
