Quan Jasinski

Senior Color Material Designer, Microsoft Quan Jasinksi grew up in Kaifeng, China which is best known for being one of the ancient capitals in China. Her childhood was surrounded by creativity like playing piano, ballet dancing and learning traditional Chinese painting. Figure sketching and oil painting developed as her specialty in high school. After high school, Jasinski immigrated to the United States with her parents and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art. There she majored in Industrial Design, while also discovering an interest in ceramics and jewelry as part of the foundation studies. Jasinski’s professional experience as a designer brought her to Nike, Adidas, IDEO, Uliko, Incase, One & Co (HTC), and now Microsoft. During her early job experiences, she designed products and experiences in a traditional ID role. Her experiences at Uliko, Incase, and HTC helped her discover and build a strength in color and material design, trend analysis, and building portfolio strategy in lifestyle and technology products. Color sparks an instant emotion for the user, while also serving as a powerful brand identity of hardware and software. In Jasinski’s last 10 years of experience at Microsoft, she led the color and material strategy across complex portfolios on the teams at Surface and Xbox. The skills and experiences developed helped her create beautiful colors in glass, resin, and paint; with her favorite materials being Aluminum and textiles. Jasinski co-lead the vision on digital wallpaper creating a visually harmonious experience between hardware and software.
