Senior Industrial Designer, TEAMS Design Chicago
Nahid is a Senior Industrial Designer at TEAMS Design Chicago, a global strategic design consultancy that designs innovation for the physical and digital world to create sustainable solutions for a better life for everyone. Alongside her professional role, Nahid has been contributing her expertise as a Design Expert volunteer at the nonprofit organization, Center for Canine Behavior Studies. She plays a pivotal role in the Be Bite Smart initiative, focusing on developing a multimedia suite of age-appropriate educational materials aimed at reducing the incidence of severe dog bites among children.
She comes with over 15 years of experience in the design industry. Her academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in industrial design, followed by a master’s in architecture. She further refined her design skills with a second master’s in industrial design from UIC while serving as President of the student IDSA chapter. In 2023, she was honored to be one of the USA Midwest District Finalists for the IDSA Graduate Student Merit Awards.
Nahid's teaching experience with ID undergraduates at UIC fuels her aspiration to become the IDSA student chapter liaison. This year, she envisions connecting ID students, from their foundational years to graduates, with experienced professionals. Her goal is to foster a community of like-minded individuals committed to leveraging design for a more inclusive and compassionate world.
