Margaret Blachnicka, IDSA

Industrial Designer, Meta Margaret Blachnicka is an industrial designer working on consumer electronics and bringing innovation to products. She studied at FH Joanneum in Graz, Austria and Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. Throughout her career, Margaret has worked in design in different countries and for international consumer groups. Currently, Margaret is part of the VR Industrial Design at Meta. She is one of the board members of IDSA’s recently established Women in Design Seattle Chapter and co-founder of the Beyond Ray podcast, in which she discusses the ups and downs of developing a design career and encourages other women to overcome hardships and be successful in the industry.

Margaret is an industrial designer currently working at Meta on AR/VR consumer products. She graduated from FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria, where she studied product and transportation design.

As Secretary-Treasurer of IDSA’s Women in Design Seattle Chapter she contributes to building a space for female-identifying industrial designers in the greater pacific northwest region. In 2022, Margaret co-founded a podcast called “Beyond Ray” which hosts conversations with women industrial designers. It is a platform for revealing the anecdotes, catastrophes, achievements, 180 pivots and true passion that drives people to their most creative selves.
