Studio Manger, Industrial Design + User Experience
Ariens Company
John Adams, IDSA, is the studio manager of industrial design and user experience at Ariens Company. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Adams has working in a wide range of industries around the world.
He spent two years building an Industrial Design Department from the ground up in Brillion, WI. He, his teams and colleagues made sweeping changes to the company’s approach to new product development, and to the Ariens and Gravely brand product lines. This has been made possible by building a shared creative culture and a get-your-hands-dirty attitude.
Designing in Steel Toes: Culture and Industrial Design
When a hands on approach is the best way to make positive change, the wingtips come off and work boots go on. Where manufacturing is strong, industrial designers are uniquely positioned to make drastic and lasting changes in short order.
Join John Adams, IDSA, on a shared journey of changing corporate culture through collaboration, exploration, patients and good old fashioned elbow grease. He will share everyday journeys—from the factory floor to cross functional collaboration and quick and dirty prototypes, to state of the art technology and executive presentations.
