Gregory Schultz, industrial designer | Ogio International
Gregory Schultz graduated from the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s in studio art and a minor in community development and applied economics. While working as an interaction designer for The Pacific Coast Stock Exchange (PCX) in San Francisco, he completed graphic design coursework at the Academy of Art University. Working with cutting-edge technology at the PCX to create a dynamic trading platform, motivated him to pursue an industrial design degree at the California College of the Arts (CCA) under Yves Béhar, IDSA.
While obtaining his degree, Schultz held a number of design internships, including one at the studio of Karim Rashid, IDSA in New York City, Pottery Barn of San Francisco and Goorin Brothers of San Francisco. He was recognized with a Bronze IDEA at last year’s IDEA ceremony for his concept, Peapod, a prescription-based home ultrasound system. Currently, he is collaborating with Mark Nitzberg, Ph.D. and Allan Yuille, Ph.D., co-founders of Blindsight, to design products that use computer vision technology to aid blind and low vision persons.
A design consultant for several brands in the action sports and fashion industries, he brings a unique perspective. Some of the brands Schultz has worked with in the recent past include: Oakley, Red Bull, BMW, OGIO International, Arctic Cat, Polaris, Motorfist, KTM, Lotus Motorsports, Tony Hawk, Asics/Onitsuka, Goorin Brothers, Apple, Shimano Racing Team, Urban Outfitters, The Levitation Project, John Deere, MFD, Sean John, Hot Topic, Geigerrig and Scorpion Helmets.
Schultz currently works with Ogio International. Before joining Ogio Schultz worked in Salt Lake City as an industrial designer for Multifacetid Design, a product design consulting firm focusing on outdoor and action sports products.
