Emilie Williams, IDSA

Industrial Designer, LIXIL Emilie Williams is a NYC-based Industrial Designer currently working at LIXIL, developing Kitchen & Bath products for the American Standard & DXV brands. She recently co-founded Hydrific, a new venture by LIXIL, tackling sustainability issues. Emilie’s human-centered approach is focused on creating better products for people, driven by research insights, macro trends, and ecological concerns. She has developed many award-winning products throughout her career and holds over 100 U.S. and international patents. In the past she has developed houseware products for a variety of brands such as Contigo, Target Home Brand, Delta Faucet, Brizo, Newport Brass, and Liberty Hardware. Emilie graduated in 2003 from the NCSU College of Design with a Bachelors of Industrial Design and focus in Universal Design.

An active member of the NYC Design Community, Emilie serves as chair of IDSA’s Housewares Section which focuses on current trends and happenings within the industry of home-based consumer products. In 2022, the Housewares Section partnered with the IDSA Chicago Professional Chapter to host a virtual panel discussion exploring the current state of innovation (or lack thereof) within the housewares industry.
