Doug Powell is a design principal at IBM Design in Austin, Texas, directing the design education program. Powell has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of design disciplines. He served as national president of AIGA, the professional association for design, and is a 2014 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Sam Fox School of Design at Washington University in St. Louis. Powell is also a lecturer, commentator and thought leader on design issues. He presented at the 2015 Offset design conference in Dublin, Ireland; Bright Ideas on Minnesota Public Radio; 2011 Mayo Clinic Transform Conference; and 2012 TEDx ArtCenter.
