Donald Corey, IDSA, is an assistant professor of industrial design at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. He is also the president of The Other Edge, Inc. Design Studio in Raleigh. Corey earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from Auburn University and an MID from North Carolina State University. He is the South Disrict Education Represenative for IDSA.
Corey is also on the planning committee for the IDSA South District Design Conference 2018. He’s excited to welcome students, educators and professionals to the annual event, which will be held this year from March 23 to 24 at one of his alma maters, NC State in Raleigh. Why should professionals attend? “To reconnect and to strengthen relationships, as well as create new ones,” answers Corey. “There will be opportunities to engage and give back. And as always with these conferences, there will be inspiration and new information to gain.”
Corey’s award-winning designs have been on display at numerous exhibitions, galleries and retail venues throughout the United States and Australia. He holds multiple US utility patents and trademarks.
