Practical Sustainability
This session is about incorporating sustainable practices into the design process. Designers play a crucial role in determining a product’s environmental impact. The design stage is an opportunity to make careful decisions that affect a product’s entire lifecycle. By making some small and easy changes and following a set of guidelines, designers can substantially reduce a product’s carbon footprint.
Designers will learn about incorporating the sustainability principles at different stages of the product life cycle, conducting sustainability research, and designing the product ecosystem, including design for shipping, packaging, and end-of-life.
