Darlene Farris-LaBar

Professor of Art + Media + Design, East Stroudsburg University Darlene Farris-LaBar is known for using 3D printing and other emerging technologies to develop her art based on various plant species. Her work requires research through environmental interaction and the study of various ecosystems. She focuses on preserving plant and flower species through digital design and 3D printing. As one of the 30 Most Influential Women in 3D Printing, her work has been featured in Women in 3D, The Addivist Cookbook, Whitney Museum, New York Hall of Science, Athens Onassis Cultural Center, 3D Pioneers, and 3D PrintShow. Her work has been exhibited around the world, such as at the Assam State Art Museum in India, “Tomorrows” at Les Uniques in Nantes, France, and “EcoVisionaries” at Mataderno Madrid, in Spain. Her work entitled Atmospheric Chords was exhibited in Vancouver, Houston and Brasília. She is a professor and head of department at East Stroudsburg University, United States.

In order to respond to the increasing complexity of business and solve complex problems, designers and entrepreneurs must possess essential strategic thinking skills. Achieving success as an entrepreneur necessitates elevated strategic thinking, a growth-focused business mindset, and a holistic view. This panel discussion will share a case study: A new product development and a strategic plan crafted by design and entrepreneurial students. This engaging panel will feature diverse participants including a design professor, a business professor, a creative director of Hasbro, students, and business owners. They will share their insights and challenges on how to work co-collaboratively to cultivate and equip students for the intricate and dynamic business environment.
