Daniela Paredes, co-founder and Chief Experience Officer at Gravity Sketch, is a designer bridging science, design, and engineering to propose a more natural way to communicate 3D ideas. With her work, Daniela has transformed the design workflow by creating Gravity Sketch, a tool that puts the user at the center of the creative process, enabling the physical and the digital worlds to converge.
Daniela was named one of the most innovative women in the UK. She enjoys breaking barriers and continuously seeks to generate a change that causes a positive impact in the world. Her company is the leading VR design and collaboration platform in the industry, used by design teams in companies such as Adidas and Volkswagen, enabling them to communicate in 3D and expand their creative power.
Communication in 3D
Communication is at the heart of the industrial design process. Humans understand the world visually, through facial expressions to interact with others, the changing seasons in the trees, etc. The interesting thing about this is that, in general, people are not prone to communicate visually. This limits creative conversations and results in relying on a mix of visual and spoken language that can lead to miscommunication and harm the creative process.
As technology keeps evolving to allow us to overcome some physical challenges, we find ourselves in a privileged position, where spatial thinking can now translate to spatial communication. Gravity Sketch’s ethos is to empower people to create and communicate in 3D through a spatial experience. This invites different types of people to actively join conversations at the beginning of the process and participate visually in feedback and ideation.

Daniela Paredes Fuentes, Co-Founder and CXO of Gravity Sketch, will share her experiences of building a design-tech startup as a female founder, starting from the birth of the company during University to growing it to the 25-person-strong team that comprises Gravity Sketch today. She will introduce Gravity Sketch through a demo of the products and how you how it can be used to transform your design workflow, allowing you to quickly ideate in 3D using Virtual Reality, design at scale with no constraints, communicate your design and collaborate with others, and give you confidence that your 3D design can proceed through your workflow.
