Cory Herbst, IDSA, graduated from Western Michigan University in 2000 and began his industrial design career at Johnson Outdoors. He went to work designing unique recreational watercraft such as canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, fishing boats, sail boats and pontoon boats. After several years in the outdoor recreation industry, Herbst joined Stryker Corporation in 2004.
Since then, he has designed and developed a wide array of medical products, including hospital beds, stretchers and clinical furniture offerings. Herbst has led traditional industrial design efforts as well as those in graphic design, user interface design and service design projects. Additionally, Herbst has led Stryker Medical’s Craftsmanship Assessment and Usability Testing initiatives.
