Industrial Designer
Cia Mooney is an industrial designer based in Portland, Oregon. She works with ambitious manufacturers of industrial craft to bring new ideas to market, sustainably designed and skillfully delivered. Her international career spans the design of products, objects, furniture, lighting, environments, and exhibitions. She is the former Chief Design Officer for Watson, a commercial furniture manufacturer widely recognized for award-winning design and sustainable practices.
Prior to Watson, Cia was VP of Product Development and Launch with the Steelcase Design Partnership companies. Cia studied industrial design at Pratt Institute and upon completing her graduate degree at Domus Academy, she worked in the Milan studios of Ettore Sottsass and Aldo Cibic.
Through her extensive teaching experience at the high school through grad school levels, Cia seeks to ignite the curiosity in others to build a more sustainable future.
