Andrew Evans

Founder – Designer – Magician,  The Magic Patio Andrew Evans is an experience designer, entrepreneur, and design leader who helps organizations find innovation through human-centered design. Andrew focuses on the development of digital and physical products and services using a creative process always rooted in human needs. Andrew is also a literal magician. In 2014, he founded and built The Magic Patio – a magic speakeasy tucked in a hidden corner of San Francisco – and his unique magic creations have been featured at The Magic Castle in Hollywood and on national television for Penn & Teller’s: Fool Us. He was also the Magic and Illusions Lead for the San Francisco production of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. Beyond the stage, Andrew brings his magic to design work by helping teams deliver a sense of wonder to their clients and customers. Andrew believes good design is a like a good magic trick and can offer people new experiences they never believed could be possible. His workshop Designing Wonder has been featured at companies including Apple, Google, Meta, Disney, Autodesk, and TED. Andrew is currently a Senior Design Lead within Nike Innovation. Previously, he has worked as a Design Lead at IDEO, a Lecturer in Design Leadership at Stanford University, and a high-end treehouse designer with Nelson Treehouse. He holds a B.A. in Engineering from Brown University, and an M.S. in Product Design from Stanford University
