Alex Xu, IDSA

Assistant Professor | University of Oregon Alex Xu is an assistant professor in the Department of Product Design’s Sports Product Design graduate program at the University of Oregon in Portland. His current research focuses on the integration of emerging technologies in the research and design of performance sportswear. Xu graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a master’s of design in 2017, and has been teaching ever since. Before getting into academia, he worked for Radius Product Development and Logic PD. Over the years, he has worked independently for clients, including Columbia Sportswear, P&G, Pfizer, Samsung, Bayer, Kroger, and LEGO on a variety of projects. As the IDSA Portland chapter vice chair, Xu aspires to connect the best design talents in Oregon and inspire future designers from the state.
