Julia Troy | New York Community & Education Outreach
Julia is a trained industrial designer and innovator whose main objective is finding creative solutions for consumers in order to enhance their every day lives. She is obsessed with pushing the boundaries of the physical with innovative aesthetic solutions in all her designs.
Currently, she co-owns her own photography and creative studio located in Chelsea. Here she assembles creative marketing and advertising solutions for her clients through visual imagery and story-telling. Julia brings ideas to life through visual ideation, form exploration, and thoughtfulness of the user experience.
Previously, Julia worked at Fahrenheit 212 where her passion for design-driven innovation, fused with her interests in consumer interaction and product aesthetic were just the spark she was looking for as a designer. She often found herself assisting both the innovation team and design team concurrently throughout the ideation process.
An IDSA Merit Award Nominee and graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design Magna Cum Laude, Julia immediately moved from her native state of Ohio to Connecticut to work for the product design consultancy Evo Design. While at Evo, Julia quickly realized that good design doesn’t exist unless it’s supported by a good idea.
This mindset and passion to drive innovative thinking informed her process management and design for leading brands such as Converse, Cannondale, Waring, Le Creuset, and Rubbermaid. Julia helped create award-winning designs for Preserve found at Whole Foods and Target. She also contributed to many design ideas for Hasbro and Evenflo, some of which can be found at Target and Babies-R-Us.
