Tree Trunk Arts
Collyn DeBano is the designer and maker behind tree trunk arts, which began in 2009 while she was attending Grand Valley State University.
After graduating with a BFA in jewelry and metalsmithing in 2011, she returned to Detroit to build her business. Currently she is focused on establishing a greater retail base, expanding her market circuit and developing new collections based on her experiences in Detroit.
From her home studio, she handcasts silver and bronze replicas of natural elements, featuring copper tree bark necklaces, maple leaf rings and twig earrings.
Tree Trunk Arts: Adorned by Nature
Collyn DeBano speaks on replicating elements of nature through traditional metalsmithing methods. Nature adorns our lives—as trees line our streets, flowers center our tables and DeBano’s jewelry adorns us in nature. Through the ancient process of casting, DeBano creates reproductions of leaves, bark and seeds in bronze and silver. Inspired by these unique natural forms, she creates the jewelry line known as tree trunk arts.
