IDSA HTX Event Recap: iDesign 2022

iDesign was a 4-day exploration of design in topics ranging from space to energy. Together with SIDSA, students and professionals came together to share the latest trends, skills, and perspectives on these important topics. iDesign was held at the University of Houston Gerald D, Hines College of Architecture and Design which allows the opportunity for students to be on the front row of the design dialogue while participating in portfolio reviews and a career fair specifically curated for industrial designers.

Day 1 brought Matt Machard’s compelling lecture on crafting portfolios. Day 2 was an exploration of space with Dr. Grodon Voss from NASA and a diverse panel of students from around the world speaking on international design. Day 3 gave us a look at healthcare, technology, and energy which brought a wide range of professionals from these fields to discuss how design is pushing each field forward. And on the last day, our keynote speaker,  Phnam & Mardis from Nonfiction Design, gave a captivating lecture on their projects and design philosophy.
