
Herndon, VA – The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) is excited to announce its 2025-2026 Board of Directors, who will lead the organization into its 60th anniversary year. This esteemed group of leaders brings extensive experience in industrial design, strategy, and education, ensuring that IDSA continues to drive innovation and professional growth in the field.
Surya Vanka, a key figure in advancing industrial design across multiple sub-disciplines, will serve as the 2025 Board President. “As IDSA nears its 60th anniversary, this new Board is ready to lead with a clear vision, building on the organization’s legacy,” said Vanka. “Focused on innovation and growth, we are committed to driving transformation, strengthening our community, and expanding professional development opportunities to ensure IDSA remains a leader in industrial design for the future.”
Joining Vanka in leadership is newly elected Director at Large, Christina Perla, CEO of Makelab, Inc. The full list of the 2025-2026 Board officers and members includes:

The new Board officially took office on March 3, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter for IDSA. This leadership transition comes ahead of the 2025 IDSA International Design Conference & Education Symposium, which will take place in Detroit, Michigan, from September 15-19, 2025.
