At RIT Gary Hustwit will be speaking about his work as a documentary filmmaker and his appearance will highlight the first public exhibit of his photographic record of a day with Massimo and Lella Vignelli.

Hustwit’s RIT appearance will highlight the first public exhibit of his photographic record of a day with Massimo and Lella Vignelli. His new book on the Vignellis will be available for sale and signing.The photographic exhibit will be in the 3rd floor Vignelli Center Benetton Gallery.

RIT’s premiere showing of Gary Hustwit’s documentary on designer Dieter Rams (born 20 May 1932 in Wiesbaden, Hessen). Rams is a German industrial designer and retired academic closely associated with the consumer products company Braun, the furniture company Vitsoe, and the functionalist school of industrial design. His unobtrusive approach and belief in “less but better” design generated timeless quality in his products and have influenced the design of many products, which also secured Rams worldwide recognition.
