The Getting It Made Deep Dive is built to highlight the critical stages of the industrial design process related to bringing a product out of the conceptual stages and into the marketplace.
A massive effort is required after the initial spark of an idea or initial sketch in order to see a product through to commercialization. Many will struggle and some will fail altogether before ever seeing their product on the shelf or in the hands of consumers. This Deep Dive will focus on how designers today can be best prepared to lead a project to success and ensure that end-users receive a valuable and enduring product experience.
Join us online for two days on March 17 & 18, 2021 (4 hours each day) to hear from talented designers with proven product development track records who work across a broad spectrum of industries, including automotive/transportation, consumer products, fashion/street wear, home goods, and much more. These industry leaders will share their stories and experiences with the Getting It Made Deep Dive audience in an effort to provide insights and practical guidance that you can quickly implement into your own practice.Â
Topics expected to be covered include (but are not limited to): prototyping, testing & validation, color/material/finish selection, tooling, vendor sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, sales channels, marketing, local vs. overseas manufacturing, crowdfunding vs. venture funding, and micro vs. macro production.
