A virtual reality workshop was held on February 14, 2019 at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The event was organized by the IDSA Student Chapter and their leadership including Rob Lopez, Aaron Scott, IDSA and Students Emma Vogelsberg and Gary Tippin. Also attending to support the event and demo how VR-CAD is being used in corporate environments was Shawn Egan, IDSA Midwest District Chapter Representative.
With three fully functional VR systems (Oculus and HTC Vive) it allowed students ample time to explore. A detailed presentation was provided on Gravity Sketch including tools, importing OBJ files, layers and backgrounds. The event was a big success and allow users to compare the different systems.
