2016 Education Symposium
August 17, 2016
Detroit, MI

Making Things Happen
This is an exciting—yet challenging—time for design educators, as the discipline continues to grow and adapt cutting-edge resources. Contextual opportunities and issues in academia often drive the interpretation of #MakingThingsHappen, but we as a community should disseminate how this year’s theme relates to design education. We have planned this Symposium to facilitate empowering engagements and networking opportunities with your peers from all over the world.
Here’s an idea of what you can expect and what we hope to achieve during this year’s Symposium:
- Interactive panel discussion on tenure and promotion reviews
- TED Talk-style, paper presentation format
- Lively group discussion, sharing curriculum ideas
- Engaging speakers covering relevant topics
This is your event and I’m personally inviting you to join this community of design educators where your presence will be greatly appreciated. We hope you choose to be part of this unique exchange and enrich us with your expertise. I look forward to welcoming  you to Detroit.
Sincerely,
