2015 Education Symposium
August 19, 2015
Seattle, WA

Future of the future
I invite you to meet designers, educators and thought leaders from around the world who are creating original educational programs and tools to shape early and mid-21st century education—from academic research to design education to the role of design in STEAM; from corporate education to public awareness of design.
The Symposium will be filled with insights from experts from some of the top corporations, industrial design firms and higher education ID programs. That includes:
- Arnold Wasserman, IDSA, named by Fast Company as a Master of Design;
- Doug Powell, design principal, program director for education and activation at IBM;
- Lauren Platts, IDSA, a recent Purdue University graduate and IDSA Student Merit Award winner who’s already landed a lead industrial designer role at GE;
The day will include a panel discussion and several breakout sessions, and culminate with a keynote address from Don Norman, IDSA, whose insights reveal, “There is a huge gap between research and practice. To bridge the gap we need a new kind of practitioner: the translational developer. The gap is real, but it can be bridged.”
Let us design the future of education, together.
