The IDSA New York City (NYC) Chapter serves the networking and professional development needs of industrial designers in New York City, New York and surrounding areas. Some of the activities and events that New York City Chapter has produced include lectures, studio tours, and collaborations with other professional design organizations. IDSA was founded in New York City in 1965 and has a tremendous history of community activity here. In 1988, 2003, and 2023, New York City was the site of IDSA’s International Design Conference and Education Symposium which brought together designers from around the world for design dialogue and discourse.
IDSA New York City also supports design students in the area, including Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the School of Visual Arts. We encourage a strong partnership between the student chapters and the professional chapter that includes portfolio reviews, career development, and social events.
The chapter officers below were elected to position by members of the New York City Chapter and hold a two-year term.
