Stephan Clambaneva, IDSA, and Surya Vanka, IDSA, distinguished members of IDSA’s Board of Directors, recently represented the association at the 33rd World Design Assembly (WDA) in Tokyo, Japan. As community leaders, they advocated for IDSA’s mission, connecting with global design leaders and promoting the significance of design in our evolving world.
Organized by the World Design Organization on October 27-29, 2023, the World Design Assembly centered around the theme “Design Beyond,” exploring design’s multifaceted intersections with humanity, technology, planet, and policy
The Research and Education Forum, held on the first day, provided a platform for insightful paper and poster presentations, dissecting the theme through various lenses and perspectives.
On the second day, an international Design Conference captivated attendees with thought-provoking keynotes and engaging breakout sessions, featuring contributions from leading designers globally. These sessions catalyzed discussions on leveraging design as a force for positive change in our ever-evolving, complex world.
The culminating event, WDO’s 33rd General Assembly, convened on the final day, where discussions and decisions shaped the future trajectory of the World Design Organization.
Stephan and Surya’s presence at the World Design Assembly underscored IDSA’s commitment to fostering international collaborations, sharing insights, and amplifying the impact of design on a global scale.
