Hyunjun Yoon, an industrial design student at ArtCenter College of Design, has been awarded a Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for his concept, raDish. This project reimagines the dining experience by merging sustainable food production with healthy cuisine.
raDish is built around a smart farm system that delivers high-quality, natural ingredients directly from farm to table. In addition to providing fresh, healthy meals, the project supports sustainable agricultural practices and focuses on fostering community development. By offering a diverse menu that features both local and foreign plants, raDish creates a communal dining experience in a serene and welcoming atmosphere.
Looking ahead, Hyunjun remains committed to the natural integration of people, spaces, and sustainability. Through innovative design, he hopes to continue advancing projects like raDish that harmonize eco-friendly architecture with healthy living, promoting experiences that connect people to nature.
Being a member of IDSA has been a rewarding experience for Hyunjun. Reflecting on his experience, he shares, “being part of IDSA has allowed me to engage with a diverse range of works and exceptional experiences from various individuals. This exposure has been incredibly inspiring and has allowed me to learn from other designers’ creative approaches and innovative ideas. Interacting with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise has broadened my perspective and enhanced my design approach and problem-solving skills.
