Belanna Zhou, IDSA, has been honored with a 2025 iF Design Award for her work on DFood, a forward-thinking food ordering service that blends user experience with environmental consciousness. Designed to address common frustrations with traditional food delivery apps, DFood offers AI-powered recommendations, flexible meal customization, and eco-friendly delivery options—all tailored to users’ budgets, dietary needs, and sustainability goals.
DFood was developed with a deep understanding of modern food delivery pain points. Belanna’s user-first approach led to thoughtful features like adaptive meal suggestions, green delivery filters, and transparent impact tracking to help users make smarter, planet-friendly choices without compromising convenience. By uniting personalized UX with sustainability, the app aims to shift both consumer behavior and industry standards in a more responsible direction.
“Being a member of the IDSA community has been an invaluable experience,” Belanna shares. “It has allowed me to connect with other professionals in the field, stay updated on industry trends, and engage in meaningful discussions that foster creativity and innovation.”
IDSA has served as a space for Belanna to collaborate with peers, exchange ideas, and continue evolving as a designer. She credits the community with pushing her to pursue more impactful, values-driven work.
About Belanna
Belanna is a Senior Principal Product Designer with extensive experience creating end-to-end digital experiences across B2B and B2C platforms. She’s currently pursuing business studies at Stanford through the LEAD program, and holds dual master’s degrees in Human-Computer Interaction (University of Michigan) and Interaction Design & Project Management (Northeastern University). Her career has spanned roles at Cisco, Harvard, Pearson, and now Ingram Micro, with projects in cloud systems, supply chain services, and e-commerce.
A multi-award-winning designer—including Red Dot, IDA, and iF Design Awards—Belanna continues to channel her passion into work that is innovative, user-centric, and socially responsible. Outside of her day job, she mentors other designers, shares industry insights through writing, and seeks out new inspiration through travel and storytelling.
