Using technology developed at the University of Toronto, Flash EVD provides radiation-free camera technology and machine-vision algorithms to create a fast, accurate model of a patient’s brain. The external ventricular drain can then be inserted precisely without damaging sensitive brain tissue. The SeaSpine Flash EVD cart makes a complex technology, small, light, and approachable. The system is small enough to store in a hallway and light enough to move quickly to the bedside in an emergency. The cart houses a power supply, a powerful processing engine, a camera, and an illumination module, all in a footprint the size of a side chair.
