Maglon is a magnetic binding system for ice climbers that attaches crampons efficiently and securely. A neodymium magnet is located on both the crampons and the sole, and self-attaches when the boots approach the crampons. The magnetic buckles self-lock. After climbing, the climber unscrews the buckles and pushes down the front strap to detach the crampon quickly and easily.
