CIRCOW

CIRCOW is a sustainable animal husbandry circulation system that uses livestock manure to produce biogas, wastewater, and fecal residue on-site. The Asparagopsis taxiformis (red seaweed) planted in the wastewater contains tribromomethane, which can replace some edible grasses in the diet of livestock to reduce methane emissions. The black soldier flies raised in sludge can be made into various forms for cattle to eat. These new sources of food reduce the high cost of feeding cattle. CIRCOW also processes manure to generate biogas for power generation, bringing new revenue sources to farms. CIRCOW directly processes the manure on-site, lending even more environmental benefits.
