Randy Bartlett, IDSA, Retires from Auburn University

The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) congratulates Randy Bartlett, IDSA on his retirement from teaching after 29 years at Auburn University's School of Industrial + Graphic Design (SIGD).

A Bauhaus Quasi Endowed Professor, Bartlett established SIGD’s Collaborative Studio Abroad program in 1996. He’s been the director of this program for 26 years, leading design students on annual trips across Ireland and the United Kingdom.

As a product designer, Bartlett worked for 13 years in the dental equipment, home exercise, and outdoor architectural lighting industries. He began teaching in Auburn’s Industrial Design program in 1993. He established and directed Futures Studio, an off-campus instructional site in Mobile, AL, where students can complete a semester of undergraduate or graduate studies.

In 2021, Bartlett was honored with IDSA’s Education Award.
