Whether creating for digital, product, or aerospace industries, design goes beyond the look. For Ximena, design is a call for transformation. Her holistic approach to innovation has one thing in mind: to make a positive, lasting impact on individuals, society, the environment, and beyond.
As an industrial and textile designer, digital experience expert, and design strategist, Ximena has 16+ years of experience working in human-centered design (HCD) as well as research and development (R&D). Over the years, she has been awarded 15 U.S. patents and received numerous design distinctions. Her designs have been showcased in the U.S., Japan, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Colombia, with work experience in the U.S., Colombia, Mexico, and Guatemala.
Peers, stakeholders, and clients regard Ximena as a solution-focused innovator, a disrupter of the status quo, and a connector of dots and communities who's able to find solutions that solve problems for better futures.
In addition to her professional endeavors, she has provided guidance to undergraduate and graduate design students at both Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and San Francisco State University. In the past, she also mentored military veterans and spouses in entrepreneurship.
As the sole founder and creative director of Ximena Rozo Design (XRD), she combines artisanal techniques with high-quality, sustainably sourced materials to design and manufacture distinctive contemporary décor for hotels, restaurants, commercial and residential spaces. Clients range from boutique hotels like The Gilded Iguana in Costa Rica and the Indigo Hotel_IHG in Columbus, GA, to retail stores such as Anthropologie in the USA and Ron Herman in Japan.
