Duane Rollins

Principal | GVP Duane is a certified professional coach and startup advisor who has supported hundreds of entrepreneurs in the DMV region. He has a diverse background in product, user experience (UX), and instructional design, which he has leveraged to create world-class curricula for early-stage, impact-driven entrepreneurs. In his previous role as a product director at Capital One, Duane helped lead one of the largest transformations of an internal, enterprise system in card servicing. He also served as Head of Client Leads for Pro Bono Growth Consulting, a program in which associates volunteered their consulting skills to help startups across the US. Duane’s other previous roles include VP of Impact Research at SEED SPOT, an incubator for social entrepreneurs; Innovation Specialist at 18F, a digital agency within the GSA; UX Designer at Threespot, a digital agency focused on mission-driven organizations; Instructor at General Assembly for UX; co-founder at STEMLY, a nonprofit to get more underrepresented people into STEM; and various roles at Juice Analytics and General Electric. As a co-founder of the Washington Leadership Academy, a public charter high school in DC, Duane helped craft the four-year computer science curriculum for the charter through STEMLY, a nonprofit he helped co-found with his brother and friend from college. He served as the founding Vice Chair of the Board of the school, which was recognized for its innovative model by receiving the XQ Super School Prize. Outside of work, Duane spends his time writing at Framed Perspective and supporting investors through Greenwood Venture Partners. He spends most of his weekends in DC visiting various museums with his wife and daughter or traveling abroad to try new foods.
