About

Founded in 1983, StudioRed strives to provide a seamless product development process resulting in design excellence by harmonizing innovation, usability, manufacturability serviceability, and cost. Through our services in industrial design, UX/UI Design, mechanical engineering, product development, and prototyping, we have provided clients with successful product launches for almost 40 years.

With over 20 UX design awards, and dozens of product design awards, StudioRed is one of the longest-standing and most well-recognized Industrial Design firms in Silicon Valley.

With clients like Meta, Medtronic, and Boston Scientific, among hundreds of others, StudioRed has experience in a range of industries and products, ranging from complex medical systems to autonomous vehicles and robotics.

With over 3500 projects and 450+ launched products, we have learned countless lessons across many industries and bring them to each new product development program. We help guide clients from the very first meeting, and with our broad range of backgrounds, help to avoid unnecessary risks. From smart design for manufacturing (DFM) analysis, preventing retooling costs through steel safe designs, to noticing costly features from the start, we can point out the risks, and show the best way around them.

Project Portfolio

OpenCellular

The OpenCellular is an open source, “wireless access platform” designed to drive down the cost of setting up cellular networks in places where it has been traditionally difficult to do so. The system is designed to provide the tools to set up a complete network, from the physical equipment to the software that runs it. These devices will likely be deployed in rather harsh conditions, so both the industrial and mechanical designs aim to make them rugged enough to withstand high winds and extreme temperatures, while still being small enough to be deployed by a single person.

Peptide Synthesizers

Gyros Protein Technologies peptide synthesis and bioanalytical solutions enable scientists to accelerate the discovery, development, and manufacturing of safer biotherapeutics. The peptide synthesizer division of GPT was developing a new biotech device and wanted to create a new design language representing a powerful, cutting edge, and personalized instrument.

Gyros Protein approached StudioRed looking for more than “just a facelift.” They wanted this new industrial design to set a new standard and brand identity across the Gyros Protein Technologies product portfolio, that they would then extend through their future product offerings.

Following industrial design, with approval from the client, StudioRed began the mechanical design of the biotech device. StudioRed engineered the device to a production-ready state while meeting all the requirements for bioanalytic devices.
