IDSA is pleased to share that effective today, the three IDSA-OH chapters have been renamed to reflect the city that best represents their geographic locations. IDSA Ohio Central (IDSA-OHC) is now IDSA Columbus (IDSA-COL), IDSA Ohio Northern (IDSA-OHN) is now IDSA Cleveland (IDSA-CLE), and IDSA Ohio Southern (IDSA-OHS) is now IDSA Cincinnati (IDSA-CIN).

The OH chapters make up 50% of professional chapters in the Central District, which include three additional professional chapters that are scheduled for city-based renames (Kentucky, Michigan, and Western Pennsylvania). IDSA expects to have all chapters in the Central District updated with city-based renames by July 2020. Current IDSA Professional chapters will be renamed through September 2020

Schedule for Renaming Current IDSA Chapters:

  • Effective June 1 – OH Chapters
  • Effective July 1 – Kentucky, Michigan and Western Pennsylvania
  • Effective August 1 – Arizona, Northwest, Oregon and Rocky Mountain
  • Effective September 1 – Carolinas and Florida
  • Effective October 1 – Central New York, Indiana and Northern Lakes

IDSA continues to accept proposals from members interested in starting a city-based chapter in their local area. Those interested in starting a new chapter should go to the  Communities tab at the top of IDSA.org, then scroll down to “Start a Chapter” to access the Proposal Form to Start a New Chapter.
