Professional Chapters are a central element to IDSA’s membership experience. These groups help to foster local connections and provide invaluable access to content and community in cities around the world.
Building from the momentum of IDSA’s City-Based Chapter Initiative, IDSA members in Toronto, Canada have expressed a desire to better support local designers through the formal establishment of a Toronto Chapter.
IDSA Toronto will support the large community of industrial design professionals and higher education institutions within the Toronto area by:
- Providing a cohesive platform that connects local industrial designers to a broad, international design network.
- Building and strengthening the relationship between IDSA and Toronto’s dynamic and diverse industrial design community.
- Creating content-rich experiences that will grow the local industrial design community.
Sayeh Beheshti, IDSA will serve as the chapter’s initial Chair. Brian Ebbinghaus, IDSA will serve as Vice Chair, Mehnaz Aydemir, IDSA will serve as Secretary / Treasurer, and Harpreet Singh, IDSA will serve as the Events Coordinator.
This proposal and petition represent the first step in the establishment of the IDSA Toronto Professional Chapter. If you would like to support this effort (regardless of your current location), please add your name to the petition. When at least 20 active IDSA members sign, the Society’s Board of Directors will review the petition and approve the establishment of the Chapter.
