Statement of Candidacy
Greetings fellow members of IDSA, I am honored to be running for the position of Section Director and I would like to take this opportunity to share my vision for the future of our organization.
As a Section Director, my primary goal would be to foster a sense of community and collaboration within our various sections. I believe that by working together, we can achieve great things and make a real impact in our respective fields.
One of my key priorities would be to increase communication and engagement between sections. I would encourage regular meetings and events that bring members from different sections together to share ideas and collaborate on projects. By doing so, we can leverage the diverse expertise of our members to tackle complex challenges and drive innovation. Additionally, to increase the impact and reach of our sections, I would focus on expanding our visibility and outreach efforts. This can be achieved by hosting events and workshops that are open to the public, partnering with other organizations, and utilizing social media and other digital platforms to promote our work. As Section Director, I strongly believe in the importance of expanding our network beyond just designers and increasing our membership base to include professionals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds. Design is a collaborative process that involves input from various stakeholders, and by expanding our network and membership base, we can bring in new perspectives and expertise that can help us to drive innovation and make a greater impact.
Finally, I would prioritize the development of resources and tools that support the growth and success of our sections. This could include providing training and mentorship opportunities for section leaders, developing best practices and guidelines for section operations, and creating a centralized platform for sharing resources and information and tools that support the growth and success of our members.
I am committed to serving our organization and our members to the best of my abilities, and I believe that as Section Director, I can help to build a stronger, more collaborative, and more impactful IDSA.
