Lou Lenzi, FIDSA

Lou Lenzi, FIDSA, retired in July 2016 as design director of GE Appliances, where he and his team were responsible for all industrial design, user interface design and user experience design activities for all GE and GE Monogram-branded major appliance products. Prior to joining GE Appliances, Lenzi held senior design leadership positions with IBM, Thomson/RCA, Audiovox and GE Healthcare. In the course of his career, his design teams received numerous design and innovation awards from the Consumer Electronics Association and IDSA’s International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA); and a Design of the Decade Award from IDSA and BusinessWeek for the DirecTV on-screen user interface and program guide. Lenzi also has lectured on design, innovation and its impact on business at numerous academic, trade and professional society venues. He is a 1980 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a BS in industrial design.
