Arzu Oran, IDSA, a senior at Pratt Institute, was part of Team Intra, which earned the Best Prototype award at the Technology Collaboration Center’s Wearables Workshop & University Challenge at NASA. Alongside teammates Lenard Christian Tolentino and Matteo Bazzurro, Arzu designed a Wearable Drainage System for NoviRad Inc.’s smart drainage technology.
The project was developed as part of the Wearable Technology Design Studio course taught by Professor Rebeccah Pailes-Friedman, FIDSA, at Pratt. After refining their prototype, Team Intra presented their final design at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, competing against top university teams from across the country.

As Co-Vice President of Pratt Institute’s IDSA Chapter, Arzu has played an active role in fostering community and collaboration among students.
“Coordinating workshops and networking events has allowed me to foster a stronger sense of community and collaboration among Pratt’s industrial design students,” she shares. “Engaging with professionals and peers through IDSA has not only expanded my network but also deepened my understanding of the industry.”
