Consumers in the United States prefer to avoid the emergency room because the experience is generally seen as undesirable. To change that, AdventHealth invested in designing a different and more appealing experience for patients. The design team created a service experience focused on listening to patient needs; providing information, comfort, and emotional reassurance; supporting the next steps; and fostering whole-person care.
