Election Candidate, Education Council | 2023

Statement of Candidacy

I am deeply honored to have been considered for the position of Midwest District Education Representative on the IDSA Education Council, and I am wholeheartedly committed to advancing the educational mission of IDSA.

In today’s rapidly changing landscape, industry requires a diverse skill set to industrial designers. These changes lead me to believe that industrial design education will naturally evolve to foster cross-pollination between industry and academia. In response to these evolving industry demands, I have dedicated myself to studying and implementing innovative processes and creating a new culture in Industrial Design education.

If elected to the Education Council, I aim to focus on two key initiatives:

  1. Promote Excellence: I will advocate for high-quality educational resources and programs that empower IDSA members to remain at the forefront of research and practice.
  2. Collaborate and Communicate: Effective communication and collaboration are essential for the success of any educational endeavor. I will actively facilitate communication among council members, educational institutions, IDSA members, industry professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure that our educational initiatives align with the needs and aspirations of our community.

With your invaluable support, I firmly believe that we can make significant strides in improving Industrial Design Education together.
