Kadija Hart

Founder, Quincy Morgan Group Kadija Hart is a mother, artist, lover of 90’s hip-hop, thrift store enthusiast, amateur photographer, and founder of Quincy Morgan Group, a collective of equity-driven design thinkers specializing in community development. Her passion for community health results from her 10+ years of neighborhood stabilization and revitalization work throughout Northeast Baltimore, and what she learned from her mother and father’s non-profit careers. Kadija’s current projects include partnering with the Baltimore Public Markets Corporation on community engagement and outreach efforts, working with The Center for Urban Health Equity at Morgan State University as a research assistant, and coordinating the National Walk With A Doc Program (Chapter 3034), in partnership with Backyard Basecamp. Kadija is a 2020 MICA Social Design Graduate and Fred Lazarus Leadership Award for Social Justice Award Recipient, a 2021 Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute Bunting Neighborhood Leadership Program Fellow, a 2022 Arts Everyday Parent Fellow, and co-designer of the Project Healthy Communities Program Initiative.

Co-Design: Community Centered Research & Engagement

What if we looked beyond the numbers and prioritized the lived experiences of individuals and communities in our research? This interactive workshop will explore how community-centered research and engagement can lead to more impactful and sustainable solutions.

Using a case study of co-designing solutions for greater food access, this session will showcase how researchers worked alongside community members to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and perspectives. Through fun and engaging techniques, attendees will learn how to incorporate a community-centered approach into their projects.
