Carl Hymander, IDSA

Carl holds an Industrial Design Diploma from Fanshawe College, Canada, and has additional training in pattern making and garment construction. He offers the collective benefits of more than 25 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of hard and soft goods product design, with an emphasis on personal protective products across multiple disciplines. Over the past six years, he has served as an Industrial Designer for Med-Eng Holdings ULC, Ottawa, Canada, which is now part of the Cadre Holdings group of companies. As the NPI Manager and part of the Operations Group, he helps guide the R&D and Manufacturing teams responsible for the development of projects such as, but not limited to: Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) suits, lightweight armor, ballistic helmet components, helmet mounted Heads-Up Display (HUD) systems, as well as the Next Generation Advanced Bomb Suit (NGABS) development program for the United States Army. In addition to his work with Med-Eng, Carl is a Top Secret cleared industry consultant to the RCMP National Technical Investigation Services training program.
