Michael Luh
Vice president, Innovation
Worthington Industries
In 2013, Michael Luh was named vice president of innovation at Worthington Industries— a diversified metals manufacturing company with revenues of $3 billion, based in Columbus, OH.
Previously, he spent 20 years at Procter & Gamble leading product innovation for some of its largest brands. Luh was co-director of P&G’s clay street project, a companywide innovation capability. He worked in the Corporate New Ventures division looking for new businesses for P&G.
Luh holds a master’s degree in industrial design from the University of Cincinnati and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University.
A Culture (Clash) of Innovation
What is a culture of innovation? Why does everyone seem to want it? Do they really want it? Michael Luh will tackle these questions, backed by his own innovation experiences at Procter & Gamble, and at Worthington Industries.
Luh, co-director at the clay street project, a P&G, design-led, innovation thinktank, allowed him to experience the nirvana of what a real culture of innovation could be on a small scale.
Luh shares the lessons learned of applying the same principles to large-going businesses. Is there a unifying principle that works for both small and large organizations?
