Was a founding member of the American Designers Institute (ADI) in 1938, and became Chair of the Chicago Chapter.
When ADI became the Industrial Designers Institute (IDI) in 1951, IDI awarded him Fellowship, which was honored by IDSA when it was formed in 1965 following the merger of IDI with the American Society of Industrial Designers (ASID) and the Industrial Designers Education Association (IDEA).
